Job summary

Faith Lutheran College is seeking a Cultural Liaison Officer (First Nations) to support First Nations students with culturally responsive engagement, wellbeing, attendance and belonging. Reporting to the Head of Student Life, the role commences in January 2027 and is a part-time position of two days per week during school terms, with flexibility around which days are worked.

This role will act as a cultural bridge between the College, students, families and the broader community, building

Qualifications

• Experience working with culturally diverse communities.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Current QCT Teacher Registration or valid WWCC/Blue Card.
• Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the College.
• Formal training or qualifications in community engagement, education, social services, or related areas.
• Experience in schools or youth support settings.
• Experience in delivering cultural programs or community events.

Responsibilities

• Act as a cultural bridge between the College, students, families and the broader community
• Build trusting, respectful relationships with First Nations students and their families and caregivers
• Be a visible presence in learning spaces, supporting students to navigate school expectations and processes
• Advocate for the needs of First Nations students and elevate wellbeing concerns in line with College policy
• Partner with local First Nations organisations and help plan and deliver cultural programs, events and celebrations
• Lead or support lunchtime clubs, cultural groups and community connection initiatives
• Provide insights to College leadership on emerging needs of our First Nations students and families
