St Monica's College in Cairns is seeking an Indigenous Liaison Officer to strengthen engagement for First Nations students. The role focuses on communication between diocesan schools, Catholic Education Services and local First Nations communities, to improve outcomes and promote cultural understanding within the college.

The position is permanent, term-time, 20 hours per week. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and hold a Working with Children Blue Card.

Qualifications

• Hold a Working with Children Blue Card
• Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education
• Candidates must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

Responsibilities

• Primary liaison between diocesan schools, Catholic Education Services and First Nations communities to increase engagement and outcomes for First Nations students.
• Promote knowledge of First Nations histories and cultures within schools in collaboration with staff and the Principal.
