Job summary

City of Boroondara is seeking a Social Inclusion Policy and Project Officer (Disability Access and Inclusion) on a part-time basis to help support disability access and inclusion in our community in Melbourne. The role is fixed-term from November 2026 to January 2028, with a salary of 104,790 to 114,015 AUD plus Superannuation, pro rata.

You will lead the implementation and evaluation of the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024-28, engage with the Community Disability Advisory Committee,

Qualifications

• You will have demonstrated experience in community development and delivering projects and activities.
• You will possess an ability to build relationships and engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders in the community.
• You will possess outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and be personable and approachable to a range of audiences.
• You will have strong project management skills, sound judgement and the ability to work in a political environment.
• The successful incumbent will have knowledge of issues affecting people with disability and a commitment to quality outcomes and efficient work practices.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the implementation of the Boroondara Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024-28
• Convening the Boroondara Community Disability Advisory Committee
• Developing and implementing effective community projects to improve disability access and inclusion
• Representing Council externally regarding disability access and inclusion
• Ensuring clear communication between Council and external groups and networks
• Coordinating information and advice to Council and community stakeholders

Education

Tertiary qualification in social sciences or related field
