Job summary

Glen Eira City Council is seeking a Community Disability and Inclusion Officer to advance accessibility and participation for people with disability across council programs and services. You will lead engagement, build partnerships and provide specialist advice to strengthen inclusion across the municipality.

This part-time, permanent role operates in a hybrid work environment with an average of 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences, community development, health promotion, planning or related discipline.
• Experience using evidence, data and community feedback to monitor outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and guide staff or volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Lead accessible community engagement and co-design activities to ensure meaningful opportunities for people with disability.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with disability organisations, advocacy groups and government stakeholders.
• Coordinate disability inclusion programs from planning to evaluation and reporting.
• Provide guidance and specialist advice to Council teams to strengthen accessibility and inclusion.
