Job summary

Yeppoon Meals on Wheels in Yeppoon, QLD, is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Cook to plan and deliver nutritious meals for the community. Start at 6AM for about 5 hours, Monday to Friday. The role includes coordinating daily meal prep, managing dietary requirements, and supervising kitchen staff and volunteers.

The ideal candidate has qualification/experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably with aged care and texture-modified meals, and knowledge of Food Handling Safety and WHS requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualification/experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience catering for aged care and texture-modified meals.
• Ability to plan and prepare hot, chilled and frozen meals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily preparation of hot/chilled/frozen meals, including texture-modified options as advised by MOW Administration.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff and volunteers, including Food Handling Safety and WHS.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and manage stock levels.
• Liaise with MOW Administration and local Council for updates to the Food Safety Program.
• Comply with the Food Safety Program.
• Plan menus in accordance with MOW Aged Care Regulations.
• Order stock as required.
