Job summary

Great Beginnings Marsden Park is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare nutritious meals for up to 124 children daily. The role is part-time (10 hours per week) on a fixed-term contract ending April 2027, with the possibility to extend.

The successful candidate will plan menus, manage stock, and ensure high safety and hygiene standards in a busy early learning kitchen. Applicants must have a Cert III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA early childhood qualification, a current Working with Children

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification
• Current Working with Children Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Experience in menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experience in dietary and allergy safe requirements
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen per Food Safety regulations

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 124 children daily
• Plan menus and manage budgeting for kitchen operations
• Order and control stock to ensure consistent supply
• Maintain strict dietary and allergy safety practices
• Ensure a clean, safe kitchen environment per regulations
• Be a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Work set shifts Monday to Friday

We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Marsden Park to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 124children each day.

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

At capacity our centre caters for up to 124children with operating hours from 6:30am - 6:30pm.

About You

• Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
• Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements.
• Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
• Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
• Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
• A current Working with Children's Check / Blue Card / DCSI Clearance and First Aid
• Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
