Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited is seeking a part-time Community Connect Worker for Eagleby. You will support individuals and families to navigate challenges, access services and build stronger community connections through information, referrals, advocacy and practical support tailored to each person’s circumstances.

Daily duties include coordinating brokerage, engaging with diverse community members, facilitating activities, and collaborating with local partners.

Qualifications

• Experience in service delivery to families and community members.
• Ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
• Understanding of community development principles and frameworks.
• Ability to work within program budgets, complete data collection and report writing for funding bodies.
• Effective time management, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to obtain probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel for work.

Responsibilities

• Providing information, referrals, advocacy and referrals in response to individual and family needs.
• Managing brokerage assistance to help community members access essential services and supports.
• Supporting individuals and families to build independence, resilience, and capacity to manage their circumstances.
• Developing and facilitating activities and events that strengthen community connection and engagement.
• Building effective relationships with local services and community partners to improve outcomes.
• Attending interagency meetings and participating in collaborative case coordination where required.
• Maintaining accurate records, reporting, data collection, and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members of the Eagleby community.
