Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited in Australia is seeking a Community Development Worker to lead and deliver evidence-based services for children, families and carers at Hummingbird House. You will connect families to local resources and support networks within a community development framework.

The role is fixed-term until 30 April 2027, part-time 30 hours per week, with salary packaging, free parking, and employee perks.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering community-based initiatives for children and families.
• Ability to link resources in communities and connect families to services.
• Experience evaluating community programs and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of community-focused services to improve quality of life for children, young people and families/caregivers.
• Support the development of stronger and more resilient families and communities using ecological approaches.
• Engage with local communities to make them more welcoming for people living with serious illness.
• Establish and maintain liaison with community groups and health providers.
• Engage with schools across the region to identify and prioritise needs and link to resources.
