Job summary

North West Private Hospital in Everton Park, QLD is seeking an experienced Clinical Coder for a flexible permanent part-time position. You will code diagnoses and procedures after discharge, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian Coding Standards.

Work with the Coding Team to support data quality and health information integrity. You should have HIMAA qualifications, at least 1 year of coding experience, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Completion of HIMAA Clinical Coding Course or equivalent.
• Eligible for HIMAA membership.
• Minimum 1 year full-time equivalent coding experience after training.
• Ability to code independently with limited supervision.
• Interest in clinical coding with a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Private hospital experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely coding of diagnoses and procedures after discharge.
• Support data collection and management to ensure policy and legislative compliance.
• Participate in internal and external coding audits and quality improvements.
