Job summary

The Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland is seeking a Centre Coordinator to support the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Venom Science. You will manage day-to-day admin and coordinate meetings, governance, and stakeholder communications.

You will also coordinate training, community engagement activities, travel, and mentoring initiatives, while ensuring budgets and reporting are maintained.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant degree in an appropriate discipline area.
• Experience in pharmacology, biochemistry, biomedical science or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in a research environment, would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the Centre’s day-to-day administration, including support for the Centre Director, Steering Committee and Workstream Leads, meetings, workshops, retreats, advisory board activities, documentation, timelines and follow-up actions.
• Serve as a central point of contact across investigators, trainees, Indigenous partners and external stakeholders, while supporting newsletters, website content, presentations and other communications that share the Centre’s research, training and engagement activities.
• Coordinate logistics for training programs, community engagement activities, the Venoms to Drugs conference, travel, workshops, field activities, and student and EMCR mentoring initiatives.
• Support effective Centre governance through NHMRC and partner reporting, budget tracking, purchasing, reimbursements, financial reporting, and ethics, governance and compliance documentation.
