Job summary

The City of Parramatta Council is offering two permanent full-time positions in the Parks Operations Team. The roles focus on operating tractors and carrying out hands-on horticultural and grounds maintenance across the LGA.

You will inspect parks, record work with iPad software, and support team priorities while adhering to safety and service standards. The positions include a 9-day fortnight and attractive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have experience operating tractors, mowing equipment and other plant safely and efficiently.
• Experience in parks maintenance, horticulture or groundskeeping.
• Ability to undertake the physical requirements of the role.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to assist other teams when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operating tractors, mowing equipment and powered attachments to maintain park and open spaces across the LGA.
• Completing a planned program of horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks to required service standards.
• Inspecting parks and facilities to help ensure they remain safe, usable and well-presented.
• Supporting the Parks crew with day-to-day maintenance activities, adapting to changing priorities and assisting other crews when required.
• Completing work programs efficiently, safely and to agreed service standards.
• Using Council’s digital systems (including iPad-based software) to record work, complete checklists and report issues.
