Job summary

Walgett Shire Council in north-west NSW seeks an Urban Maintenance Worker to care for parks and open spaces in Walgett. You will inspect, maintain, and enhance public spaces, using various plant and equipment, while adhering to safety rules and environmental standards.

This permanent, full-time role (38 hours/week) includes a 9‑day fortnight cycle, five weeks leave, and opportunities to contribute to community well-being through hands-on outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Inspect, maintain and enhance parks and public spaces using plant and equipment.
• Adhere to WHS and environmental standards and operate machinery safely.
• Permanent, full-time role 38 hours per week with RDO every second Friday.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and enhance public infrastructure such as parks, gardens, and facilities.
• Operate tools, machinery, and vehicles safely and perform horticultural tasks.
• Support Council's goals through teamwork and risk management.
