Job summary

Frankston City Council is inviting applications for a Parks Maintenance Officer to maintain and enhance parks, reserves and high profile sites with horticultural skills and equipment.

This permanent full-time role is 38 hours per week under a 9-day fortnight, with one rostered day off every fortnight. Salary is Band 3A, currently remunerated at $69,665.28 per annum plus superannuation. Applications close 21 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Horticulture or demonstrated experience in parks, gardens, turf or open space maintenance.
• Sound knowledge of mowing, planting, pruning and weed control with use of horticultural tools and machinery.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and ability to work in a team.
• Reliable, proactive with strong communication and a willingness to learn.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain turf, garden beds and landscaped areas through mowing and weed control.
• Operate and maintain ride-on mowers, tractors, brushcutters, hedge trimmers and chainsaws.
• Undertake general park maintenance, litter removal and minor repairs.
• Ensure reserves, playgrounds and open spaces are safe and well presented.
