Job summary

The Council invites applications for the full-time Parks & Gardens Supervisor based in Gundagai. The role oversees the operation and project management of Gundagai Parks and Gardens, sporting grounds and community facilities, along with the area’s staff, to ensure high standards and timely delivery.

You will participate in rostered on-call duties, respond to operational and emergency situations, and provide first aid within your training. A strong focus on safety and quality is essential.

• Organise and deliver all labour, materials, and plant to ensure cost-effective delivery.
• Maintain sporting grounds, parks and recreational areas with a focus on public safety.
• Implement the tree management plan and street tree program.

Job description

Applications are invited from interested persons for the above full-time position of Parks & Gardens Supervisor to be based in Gundagai.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated individual who loves the outdoors! Council is seeking someone to oversees the operation and project management of Council’s Gundagai Parks and Gardens, Sporting Grounds and community facilities within the area of responsibility along with staff associated to the area to ensure operations and activities are completed to expected standards and within allocated timeframes. The position is required to participate in rostered on-call and call-out duties, responding to operational and emergency situations as required, and provide first aid assistance within the scope of relevant training and qualifications.

Key responsibilities include:

• Co-ordinate and supervise the parks and gardens section to ensure expected outcomes and activities are achieved within specified timeframes.
• Assist in the development of Divisional/Unit annual budgets, capital projects, and work schedules
• Organise and deliver all labour, materials, and plant to ensure works delivery is cost effective and efficient.
• Ensure Council’s sporting grounds, parks and gardens and recreational areas are maintained to a high standard with a focus on public safety.
• Ensure Council’s tree management plan, with particular attention to Council’s street tree program is implemented.

• Salary range of $1,588.17 - $1,857.78 gross per week
• 12% super guarantee levy payable by Council.
• 9 day fortnight working arrangement
