Cumberland City Council in Sydney’s west seeks a Team Leader – Recreational Assets (Auburn Botanic Gardens) to lead horticultural maintenance, manage a team and coordinate resources across multiple sites, ensuring safe, high‑quality landscapes and guest satisfaction.
The role requires trade qualifications or substantial experience, ability to plan maintenance and supervision, WHS compliance, and a current Class C license; located at Auburn depot with travel across sites.

The City Open Spaces team manages the daily presentation and maintenance of Council’s open spaces, sportsgrounds, playgrounds, passive and public spaces, golf courses, botanical gardens and native vegetation areas within the Cumberland City Area, ensuring that our residents and visitors have access to quality and attractive open spaces of which they can be proud and enjoy.
In contributing to Council’s overarching vision, the Team Leader – Recreational Assets (Auburn Botanic Gardens) will lead and support a team delivering high-quality horticultural and landscape maintenance services within Auburn Botanic Gardens. The role operates in a dynamic and physically demanding environment and is responsible for ensuring the Gardens’ landscapes, assets are maintained to a high standard of presentation, safety, and functionality, while promoting a positive visitor experience and community satisfaction.
