Qualifications

• Experience in commercial mowing and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate ride-on and push mowers safely.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, including early starts.
• Strong safety mindset around public and machinery.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a crew or alone.
• Indigenous workers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate zero-turn and other ride-on mowers, push mowers, brush-cutters and hand tools
• Complete brush-cutting, mowing, edging, hedging, litter collection and general grounds maintenance
• Apply herbicides when appropriately trained, authorised and licensed
• Complete daily pre-start checks and report faults, damage and hazards
• Clean, refuel and maintain vehicles and equipment
• Set up safe work areas around roads, pedestrians and public
• Identify and report hazards such as broken glass or unsafe areas
• Follow SWMS and site requirements
• Assist other Opal work teams when needed
