Job summary

WPC Group is offering a Parks and Gardens Apprenticeship in Melton, VIC. Recent Year 12 graduates and school leavers are encouraged to apply to gain a nationally recognised qualification while earning a wage.

Responsibilities include maintaining parks and public green spaces, learning planting, pruning, mulching, weed management, and operating gardening tools. You will work with a supportive mentor, have PPE supplied, and access to TAFE as you progress.

Qualifications

• Recent Year 12 graduates and school leavers are encouraged to apply.
• Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally in the parks and gardens industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ongoing maintenance and care of parks, gardens and public green spaces.
• Develop practical horticultural skills (planting, pruning, mulching, weed management).
• Learn to safely operate, use and maintain a range of gardening tools and equipment.
• Support landscape construction, design and improvement projects.
• Build knowledge of plant varieties and growing conditions.
• Help create and maintain sustainable outdoor environments.
• Work with a diverse team to deliver quality outcomes.
• Follow health and safety procedures and industry guidelines.
