Job summary

Programmed Training Services, in partnership with Yarra Ranges Council, is seeking a Parks & Gardens Apprentice in Lilydale, VIC. This 4-year apprenticeship offers paid work and a nationally recognised Certificate III in Parks & Gardens.

You’ll gain hands-on experience maintaining parks and gardens, learn horticultural skills, and receive mentoring in a supportive team. No prior experience required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

• Interest in horticulture, landscaping and environment.
• Willingness to learn and positive attitude.
• Enjoyment of practical, hands-on work and teamwork.
• Has a current driver’s licence or is working toward one.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining parks, gardens, reserves, and community spaces.
• Planting, pruning, mowing, mulching, and general garden maintenance.
• Assisting with landscaping and irrigation projects.
• Identifying and managing weeds, pests and plant diseases.
• Operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment safely.
• Collaborating with the team to keep green spaces healthy and welcoming.
