Job summary

The City of Whittlesea is seeking a Unit Manager Parks Development to lead the planning, design and delivery of the Council’s parks, open space, sporting and public realm capital program. You will manage a team of landscape architects and project managers, oversee major park redevelopments, playgrounds, and town centres, and ensure delivery on time and within budget.

• Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture or similar discipline.
• Substantial experience delivering capital infrastructure through major contracts.
• Strong project and contract management capability.
• Ability to lead a capable team and drive delivery with governance and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and delivery of parks, open space, sporting and public realm capital program.
• Oversee portfolio including major park redevelopments, playgrounds, sports fields, streetscapes and town centres.
• Strengthen governance, contract management and delivery disciplines while maintaining design quality.
• Act as Superintendent across major contracts and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget.
• Provide leadership, direction and collaboration across Capital Delivery.
