Job summary

Maribyrnong City Council is seeking a hands-on Team Leader Parking to lead the Parking Enforcement team, improve safety and accessibility, and drive service excellence across the municipality. You will supervise Parking Officers, manage rosters, and use data to guide enforcement decisions.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of Victorian legislation and a commitment to fair, community-focused enforcement. After-hours on-call involvement is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a field-based compliance, parking enforcement or regulatory services team.
• Sound knowledge of Victorian parking legislation, authorised officer responsibilities, infringement processes and evidence requirements.
• Strong operational judgement and a commitment to fair, proportionate enforcement.
• Well-developed communication, customer service and conflict-resolution skills, including escalated complaints handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Parking Officers, fostering a safe, inclusive and accountable team culture with clear performance expectations.
• Coordinate rosters, daily deployment and after-hours and weekend coverage to meet operational demands and service standards.
• Plan targeted patrols using enforcement data and local knowledge to improve parking outcomes.
• Undertake regular field patrols with officers, providing practical coaching in complex situations.
• Ensure parking enforcement activities, infringement evidence and records comply with legislation and council procedures.
• Oversee escalated complaints and customer enquiries, supporting timely responses.
