Job summary

The Law Society of NSW is seeking a Paralegal to join the Assessment and Compliance Team in Sydney. This is a full-time permanent role (35 hours per week) with a hybrid working model and part-time will be considered.

You will provide legal support, conduct research, manage files, and draft documents under supervision, supporting Legal Officers in licensing and compliance matters within Professional Standards.

Qualifications

• Studying a law degree or a graduate with exposure to legal work.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Good written and verbal communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal assistance to the Director, Deputy Director, Team Leader and Legal Officers on licensing, trust accounting and other suitability matters.
• Carry out legal research and review documents and evidence as required.
• Classify, organise and manage files, records and evidence for assessment matters.
• Draft correspondence, reports and other documentation under supervision.
• Support reporting and precedent systems for team matters.
• Maintain effective working relationships within Professional Standards.
