Job summary

The Law Society of New South Wales is seeking a Paralegal to join the Assessment and Compliance team. This is a full-time permanent role (35 hours per week) with a hybrid working model located in Sydney's CBD.

The Paralegal will provide legal support, conduct research, manage files, draft correspondence, and assist in licensing and trust accounting matters under supervision. Part-time consideration available and the organisation emphasizes collaboration and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Studying a law degree, or a graduate of a law degree.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficient in MS Office, email and internet and database systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and show initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal assistance and research to Legal Officers within the Assessment and Compliance Team.
• Carry out legal research and document review as requested.
• Classify, organize and manage files and evidence for assessment matters.
• Draft correspondence, reports and other documentation under supervision.
• Support in managing reporting and precedent systems for team matters.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
