Job summary

Law Society of New South Wales is seeking a Graduate Solicitor, Assessment and Compliance to join the team on a full-time basis with a 35-hour week and a hybrid working model.

The role involves under supervision conducting assessments and investigations under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW), reviewing trust reports, and preparing recommendations for senior staff and regulatory committees.

Qualifications

• Admission as a legal practitioner in NSW and eligible to hold an Australian practising certificate.
• Proficient knowledge of Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and related regulations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present information clearly.
• Ability to plan, organise, and support others to succeed.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office and email.
• Commitment to quality client service and handling diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrates integrity and manages conflicts of interest when needed.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessment and investigation of matters under supervision.
• Review trust investigation reports and make recommendations to senior staff.
• Manage cases including examination, research, reporting and monitoring.
• Draft statutory notices and conduct legal research.
• Ensure compliance with the Uniform Law and confidentiality.
• Liaise with solicitors and Law Society staff and regulatory committees.
