Job summary

Perre Bros Smash Repairs in Wollongong is seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our established family-owned workshop. You will restore damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition while upholding high workmanship and safety standards.

You will assess damage, repair and replace panels, align chassis, and work with estimators and spray painters. Our modern workshop and supportive team provide ongoing training and a stable, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in automotive body repair preferred.
• Experience as a Panel Beater in collision repair environment.
• Strong knowledge of repair methods and structural repairs.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine repair requirements.
• Repair and replace damaged panels and structural components.
• Straighten vehicle bodies and chassis using specialist equipment.
• Weld, fit, and align new panels and components.
• Prepare vehicles for refinishing process.
• Collaborate with estimators, spray painters, and other technicians.
• Maintain accurate repair records and workshop procedures.
• Ensure repairs meet manufacturer and industry standards.

About the role

As a Panel Beater with Perre Bros Smash Repairs, you will play a key role in restoring damaged vehicles to pre-accident condition while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing vehicle damage and determining repair requirements
• Repairing and replacing damaged panels and structural components
• Straightening vehicle bodies and chassis using specialist equipment
• Welding, fitting, and aligning new panels and components
• Preparing vehicles for the refinishing process
• Working closely with estimators, spray painters, and other technicians
• Maintaining accurate repair records and adhering to workshop procedures
• Ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer and industry standards

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification in Automotive Body Repair Technology (preferred)
• Previous experience as a Panel Beater in a collision repair environment
• Strong knowledge of repair methods, panel replacement, and structural repairs
• Experience using welding equipment and panel repair tools
• High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
• Current driver's licence
