Recruitment Innovations – Airport West VIC in Melbourne is seeking a qualified Panel Beater to join Sully’s Spray Painting & Bodyworks in Airport West VIC. The role involves removing damaged panels, straightening frames, fitting replacement panels and assisting with spray-painting tasks.

Full-time, permanent position based in Airport West, VIC. Applicants should have Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology and at least three years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ experience as a qualified Panel Beater.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Remove damaged panels and parts, and remove upholstery and accessories to gain access.
• Remove dents by hammering panels.
• Straighten damaged vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Replace badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels.
• Fill depressions with plastic filler, and filing, grinding and sanding repaired surfaces.
• Cut and join replacement sections using welding equipment.
• Fit repaired or replacement panels on vehicles and refit body hardware such as door locks and trims.
• Assist vehicle body builders in constructing and restoring custom-designed, vintage and other specialty vehicles.
• Assist spray-paint vehicles.
