You will be responsible for the critical structural and body repairs that form the core of the repair process. Working on a diverse range of vehicles, from modern cars to classic restorations, you will use advanced techniques and equipment to meticulously return damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition. Your work will set the standard for the quality of the final product.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Body & Panel Replacement
  • Remove damaged panels, upholstery, and accessories to access structural areas; then replace severely damaged sections with OEM or quality secondhand panels.
  • Fit repaired or replacement panels, realign gaps, and reinstall body hardware such as door locks, trims, and weather seals.
Dent Removal & Surface Finishing
  • Hammer out dents carefully to restore original contours, then fill depressions with plastic filler and file, grind, and sand surfaces to a smooth finish.
  • Final check panel alignment and ensure surfaces are ready for painting (spray painting may also be required).
Straightening & Welding
  • Use mechanical and hydraulic equipment to straighten damaged vehicles and components.
  • Cut and join replacement sections using MIG/TIG welding, ensuring structural integrity.
Additional Duties
  • Assist in constructing or restoring custom designed, vintage, or specialty vehicles as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe workspace and comply with all workplace health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • A formal trade qualification as a Panel Beater or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience in a professional panel beating role within the automotive repair industry.
  • Proven, hands-on expertise in vehicle structural repair, including the use of frame straightening jigs and measuring systems.
  • High proficiency in MIG/MAG welding and a strong understanding of metal finishing techniques.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to restoring vehicles to manufacturer specifications.
  • The ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a collaborative member of a dedicated team.
  • A strong understanding and a proven commitment to adhering to all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and environmental guidelines.
