Job summary

Douglas Collision Management in Currajong, QLD is seeking a qualified Panel Beater to join our workshop and contribute to high-quality vehicle repairs. You will remove damaged panels and parts, straighten bodies with mechanical and hydraulic tools, replace panels, perform filler work, weld replacements, fit panels and refit trims, and assist with spray-painting and custom/ vintage projects.

The role is full-time and salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience as a panel beater preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Remove damaged panels and parts to access areas.
• Hammer out dents and straighten vehicles with mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Replace panels and refit body hardware such as doors and trims.
• Assist with spray-painting and custom/ vintage vehicle projects.

Job description

Douglas Collision Management is currently seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced Panel Beater to join our team in Currajong QLD.

The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

• Remove damaged panels and parts, and remove upholstery and accessories to gain access
• Remove dents by hammering panels
• Straighten damaged vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment
• Replace badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels
• Fill depressions with plastic filler, and filing, grinding and sanding repaired surfaces
• Cut and join replacement sections using welding equipment
• Fit repaired or replacement panels on vehicles and refit body hardware such as door locks and trims
• Assist vehicle body builders in constructing and restoring custom-designed, vintage and other specialty vehicles
• Assist spray-paint vehicles

Skills & Abilities:

• Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
• Ideally have a minimum of three years’ experience as a qualified Panel Beater
• A strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
• The ability to work in a team environment

Salary range is $75,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
