Job summary

Aussie Painters Network is seeking a Painting Apprentice in Queensland, Australia. You will learn on-site under experienced tradespeople, performing measurements, reading plans, preparing surfaces, and applying paints and textures across residential and commercial projects.

This paid apprenticeship offers mentoring, a nationally recognised qualification on completion, and solid career pathways in a growing industry.

Qualifications

• Interest in undertaking a Painting Apprenticeship.
• White Card or ability to obtain one as soon as possible.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
• Trustworthiness and motivation.
• Preferred (but not essential): A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Previous painting or construction-related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out measurements and basic calculations.
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Erecting and maintaining trestle and plank systems.
• Handling painting and decorating materials.
• Using painting and decorating tools and equipment.
• Removing and replacing doors, windows, and components.
• Preparing surfaces for painting.
• Applying paint using brushes and rollers.
• Applying textured coating finishes by brush, roller, and spray.

About the Role

As a Painting Apprentice, your duties will include:

• Carrying out measurements and basic calculations
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Erecting and maintaining trestle and plank systems
• Handling painting and decorating materials
• Using painting and decorating tools and equipment
• Removing and replacing doors, windows, and components
• Preparing surfaces for painting
• Applying paint using brushes and rollers
• Applying textured coating finishes by brush, roller, and spray

• A genuine interest in undertaking a Painting Apprenticeship
• A White Card, or the ability to obtain one as soon as possible
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour
• A willingness to learn and work as part of a team

• The ability to follow instructions and take direction
• Trustworthiness and motivation
