Job summary

Metro North Health is seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to carry out painting, decorating and maintenance across its healthcare facilities in a dynamic clinical environment.

The role involves surface preparation, plastering and finishing, with emphasis on safety, quality and timely delivery. You will work both independently and as part of the Painting and Decorating workshop, supporting supervisors and partners across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified painter and decorator with proven experience in healthcare or similar environments.
• Commitment to safety and quality in all work.
• Teamwork and ability to support supervision as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform painting, decorating, surface preparation and maintenance activities across health service facilities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Undertake wall preparation, repairs, plastering and finishing works using recognised trade practices and techniques.
• Contribute to the efficient operation of the Painting and Decorating workshop through effective workload management, communication and collaboration with team members and supervisors.
• Provide technical trade advice and support to supervisors, colleagues and stakeholders as required.
• Assist in maintaining service continuity by supporting supervisory functions during periods of short-term absence where required.

Job description

As a Painter & Decorator, you'll undertake a variety of painting, decorative and maintenance works across a complex healthcare environment. You'll apply your trade expertise to surface preparation, repair work, plastering and finishing, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Working both independently and collaboratively, you'll contribute to the ongoing maintenance and presentation of Metro North Health facilities while providing excellent customer service and support to stakeholders across the organisation.
