Job summary

West Moreton Health is seeking an Apprentice Painter to join the Building Services Team. The role provides structured on-the-job training and formal TAFE studies to qualify as a Painter and Decorator Tradesperson, supporting high-quality facilities for patient care and staff accommodation across the service.

The ideal candidate will have Year 10 with Maths and English passes, a White Card, and vaccination as required by policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum of year 10 with passes in Maths and English.
• Possession of a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases as outlined in directive.

Responsibilities

• Assist Building Services Team to provide and maintain high quality infrastructure for patient care and staff accommodation.
• Contribute to maintaining facilities to support patient care and staff housing across West Moreton Health Service.
• Work as part of a team to meet deadlines and communicate with stakeholders.

About the role

The Apprentice Painter will become eligible to qualify as a Painter and Decorator Tradesperson after gaining a thorough working knowledge of the painting trade through structured on-the-job training, work experience and formal TAFE studies. The Apprentice will assist the Building Services Team to provide and maintain high quality infrastructure facilities for patient care and staff accommodation throughout West Moreton Health Service.

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, prioritise allocated work and meet deadlines.
• Ability to interact with stakeholders of all levels and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Minimum of year 10 with passes in Maths and English.
• Possession of a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
