Job summary

Metal Recovery Industries in Rockhampton, Qld, is seeking qualified and experienced painters for a permanent full-time position. The role requires spray painting expertise (airless and conventional), coating applications, surface preparation and working at heights in mining and regional sites.

Applicants should have trade certification (Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent), inductions, and relevant licences.

Qualifications

• Trade Certificate –Certificate III in Surface Preparation or equivalent (for Blaster/Painters).
• Construction Induction (White or Blue Card).
• High Risk Licence for EWP and/or Forklift (desirable).
• Trade Qualifications in Protective Coatings (ACA, NACE, ICorr, or other certs).
• HR licence, high risk licence with EWP and Forklift Drivers Licence (MR or HR class).
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Paint surfaces using airless and conventional spray methods.
• Prepare and finish surfaces to specifications.
• Mix two-part paint coatings to correct ratios.
• Select paints, varnishes and stains for surfaces and apply with brushes, sprays or rollers.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders; clean equipment and work areas.

Job Description

Our valued client Metal Recovery Industries based in Rockhampton Qld, is seeking qualified and experienced PAINTERS to join their team of professionals on a full-time and permanent basis. The Company collects, salvages and processes scrap metal goods for recycle and re use in regional and remote areas in Central North Queensland, including mining sites. To be successful in this position, you should ideally be:

Competent with airless and conventional spray painting Experienced in coating applications (Brush and Roller) Competent with abrasive blast equipment

Understand surface preparation and finishes. Be able to understand and complete works to specifications. Be able to mix to correct ratio two-part paint coatings etc.

Select paints, varnishes and stains to various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers. Understand the use of Wet Film Thickness Gauges and be able to achieve specified dry film thickness. Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Erecting scaffolding and ladders. Cleaning equipment and work areas. Desirable traits and will highly be regarded:
