Job description

Chatter-boxes Therapy Centre – Mooloolaba QLD

You’re a good clinician. Your next role should be somewhere GREAT!

At Chatter-boxes Therapy Centre, we believe clinicians do their best work when they’re supported to thrive.

We're a passionate, innovative multidisciplinary paediatric team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, and we're looking for aSpeech Pathologist who loves working with children and families and wants more than simply another job.

Whether you want to deepen your clinical expertise, develop a specialty, move into supervision or leadership, become involved in education, or simply build a caseload filled with the work you love — we want to help you build a career that grows with you.

Here’s what makes Chatter-boxes great!

A 9-day fortnight
Because having a career you love shouldn't mean giving up the rest of your life.

Genuine flexibility
We understand that different seasons of life need different things. We offer flexibility around start and finish times and are open to discussing the work pattern that helps you do your best work.

Clear and achievable expectations
Our standard clinician utilisation target is 65%. You'll know what's expected from the beginning, with a diary blueprint, systems and admin support designed to help you achieve it sustainably.

A caseload you actually enjoy
We want to know what interests you clinically. Speech sounds? Language? Literacy? Autism? Feeding? Assessment? Complex communication? Lets develop your niche and build expertise in the areas that light you up.

Supervision that isn't just for when something goes wrong
You'll have regular supervision, peer mentoring, discipline-specific learning and access to experienced clinicians who genuinely want to see you thrive.

Professional development with a purpose
Rather than PD for the sake of ticking a box, we'll work with you to identify where you want your career to go and help build learning opportunities around it.

A real career pathway
Want to remain clinical and become a specialist? Brilliant. Interested in supervision, education, program development, Team Leadership or eventually becoming a Head of Department? We can help you build towards that too.

There isn't only one definition of career progression here - the definition is yours to write.

What might your week look like?

We don't believe sustainable clinical practice looks like back-to-back therapy from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.

Your week is structured to include clinical work alongside the things that help you do clinical work well — administration, planning, supervision, collaboration, professional learning and team connection.

Our diary systems and admin team help take care of the logistics so you can spend more of your energy being a clinician.

We're probably a great fit if you...
  • Hold a recognised qualification in Speech Pathology and are eligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership
  • Have strong paediatric clinical skills and a genuine desire to keep developing them
  • Enjoy working with neurodivergent children and children with complex communication needs
  • Want to work collaboratively rather than in a silo
  • Care about families as much as you care about therapy goals
  • Are curious, reflective and open to learning
  • Take ownership of your work and professional responsibilities
  • Are willing to advocate when something isn't right
  • Contribute to the people and culture around you
  • Bring some fun to work
  • Because we take our responsibility to children and families very seriously. (Ourselves? Slightly less so!)
There are some extras too...

Alongside your remuneration and professional support, we offer benefits including:

  • Bonus opportunities
  • Regular supervision
  • Discipline-specific and multidisciplinary team learning
  • Structured mentoring
  • Full administration support
  • And, importantly, you'll work with people who genuinely like working together.
Who are Chatter-boxes?

We've been supporting children and families on the Sunshine Coast for more than 20 years.

We're a multidisciplinary paediatric therapy centre built around three words:

Educate. Advocate. Inspire.

We believe in high-quality clinical practice.

We believe children and families deserve people who will advocate for them.

We believe clinicians should never stop learning.

And we believe workplaces can have high expectations and be places where people feel supported, valued and excited to turn up.

Around here, we sometimes describe that a little more simply:

We do things properly — with love and we'd love to meet you.

Oh and about the role

You'll assess, diagnose and provide intervention for children with a range of communication needs, developing individualised, evidence-informed therapy that makes sense for the child and family. Our clinicians work across clinic, school and community environments and collaborate closely with families, educators and other professionals.
