Job description

Little Minds Grow | Helensvale, Gold Coast

Full-time | Starting January 2027

$80,000–$95,000 + superannuation + annual PD budget + performance incentives

New graduates and early-career speech pathologists are very welcome to apply!

Looking for somewhere you can genuinely enjoy being a Speechie?

At Little Minds Grow, we truly believe you should be able to do great therapy, grow your clinical skills and still have a life outside of work.

That means having the time to focus on your clients, colleagues you can bounce ideas off, resources ready when you need them, and a workplace where you're supported rather than constantly worrying about billable hours.

We're a small, growing paediatric speech pathology practice on the northern Gold Coast, and we're looking for another wonderful Speechie to join our team!

We're also opening a brand-new clinic in Helensvale just off the high way in January 2027, sharing the space with an occupational therapy team. It's an exciting new chapter for us, and we'd love for someone to be part of it.

Here’s what working with us actually looks like:

Flexibility that makes your working week easier

We offer a combination of clinic-based and mobile therapy, and we're happy to work with you to find a schedule that suits your circumstances.

This might mean dedicated clinic days, grouping mobile appointments by location, or adjusting your schedule to reduce unnecessary time on the road.

We aim to keep travel within working hours, consider where you live when allocating mobile clients, and reimburse work-related kilometres.

We want you spending more time doing what you love and less time sitting in traffic!

Real clinical support, especially when you're finding your feet

Whether you're fresh out of university or have a few years of experience, we want you to feel confident asking questions, discussing tricky cases and learning from the people around you. You will have access to as much or as little supervision as you need, especially if you are a new graduate.

We typically work across speech, language, literacy, AAC and social communication areas. If there's an area that you're particularly passionate about, we'd love to hear about it.

A brand-new clinic and a team to share it with

Our new Helensvale clinic will give us a dedicated paediatric space to work, collaborate and connect.

You'll have speech pathology colleagues to share ideas with and the opportunity to work alongside OTs, learn from different perspectives and collaborate on supporting children and their families.

We're a close-knit team of 5, making up 2 speech pathologists, 2 therapy assistants, and 1 great administration support officer. We are a team that genuinely values spending time together, sharing knowledge and celebrating each other's successes.

Resources, equipment and admin support? We've got you.

We don't want you spending your evenings making therapy resources from scratch.

You'll receive your own laptop, iPad, iPhone, therapy bag and uniforms, plus access to an extensive collection of organised, ready-to-use therapy resources.

Think laminated materials ready to grab, digital resources, standardised assessments, informal screeners and established programs such as Story Champs and We Thinkers, and Sounds Write (if you’re trained, if not we will make sure you get trained!).

You'll also have access to an Allied Health Assistant who can help with resource preparation as needed, as well as soon to be full time administration support to make your working week easier.

Let's talk about KPIs. Yes, we're actually going to tell you!

We know that billable targets can be a source of stress in private practice, especially when expectations aren't clear before you start. So, here's how we approach them…

If you're anew graduate:

  • Your target isto work toward 20 billable hours per week, including any eligible travel time, throughout your first year.
  • We want you to have time to build your clinical confidence, develop your skills, access supervision and settle into your role.

If you're anearly-careerorexperienced Speechie:

  • Your target is25 billable hours per week, including any eligible travel time.

Each employee’s targets are set in these ranges and agreed upon prior to you commencing your role.

We believe KPIs are important for running a sustainable private practice, but they shouldn't be something you're constantly worrying about as the employee.

Our job is to manage the business, provide appropriate support, and help you maintain a manageable workload. Your job is to focus on your clients, your clinical development, and being a great therapist.

And if you want to earn more? You can!

We also offer an incentive program where clinicians can earn an additional30% of eligible billings above their agreed target in their pays.

There's no expectation to take on extra work to access a higher salary. It's simply an opportunity to increase your earnings if that's something you'd like to pursue.

We'll explain how targets and incentives work before you join, so you know exactly what to expect.

As discussed throughout, here are some of the things you'll enjoy...

  • A base salary of $80,000–$95,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
  • $2,000 annual professional development budget, as mentioned above
  • 2 days of paid PD leave
  • Paid work-related kilometre reimbursement
  • Individual and peer clinical supervision
  • Regular team events and opportunities to connect
  • Access to our confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support through Bright HR
  • HR support, employee benefits and personal purchase discounts
  • A team that genuinely welcomes feedback and new ideas – seriously!
  • Opportunities to collaborate and learn alongside occupational therapists
  • Support to develop your own clinical interests and areas of expertise

We know that every therapist is different, and we're always open to conversations about how we can make Little Minds Grow a better place to work.

What does a typical week look like at LMG?

You’ll see around3–5 clients per day, withdedicated admin time built into your weekfor planning, notes, reports and other non-clinical tasks. This may be scheduled in longer blocks of 2+ hours or spread across multiple days, depending on your calendar. Either way, we make sure you have enough time to get your admin done within work hours!

Your week will include a mix of clinic and mobile appointments, with some days spent entirely in the clinic or out in the community to minimise travel.Working from home is also an option where practical, particularly for admin tasks.

Enjoy lunch and a chat with teammates in the clinic, and supervision is scheduled at a time that works for you. We aim to make your week feel balanced, manageable and enjoyable! Your work days shouldn't feel like a slog!

Who are we looking for?

Someone who enjoys working with children, loves learning, and values being part of a supportive team. We are looking for someone who wants to connect with local families to support their children with their therapy goals.

You'll need to be a qualified Speech Pathologist (or graduating in time for January 2027), eligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership with CPSP status, and comfortable working with children and families across clinic and community settings. You need a Blue Card, a valid driver's licence and a car for your work duties. You will also need a Medicare Provider Number (or willing to obtain), and Professional Indemnity Insurance (or willing to obtain).

New graduates are very welcome, and we'd particularly love to hear from early-career clinicians looking for somewhere to grow.

You don't need to know everything. You just need to be willing and open to learn, ask questions and give things a go.

We think finding the right workplace is a two-way street, and we'd love for you to get to know us just as much as we'd like to get to know you.
