Job description

Speak Listen Learn is growing, and we’re looking for someone warm, engaged and genuinely interested in working with children and families to join our multidisciplinary team in Frenchs Forest.

Ideally the suitable candidate would commence ASAP and would start as part-time, although we are open to discussing a full time role for the right person.

For those applying as a final-year Speech Pathology student, you’ll join us initially in our established Allied Health Assistant role. Following graduation, you’ll have the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time or part-time Speech Pathologist position in 2027.

Speech Pathologist

Are you already a qualified Speech Pathologist looking for a supportive, flexible paediatric role?

Or are you in your final year of Speech Pathology and would love to start working with us now as an Allied Health Assistant, before transitioning into a permanent Speech Pathologist role after graduation?

Speak Listen Learn is growing, and we’re looking for someone warm, engaged and genuinely interested in working with children and families to join our multidisciplinary team in Frenchs Forest.

Ideally the suitable candidate would commence ASAP and would start as part-time, although we are open to discussing a full time role for the right person.

For those applying as a final-year Speech Pathology student, you’ll join us initially in our established Allied Health Assistant role. Following graduation, you’ll have the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time or part-time Speech Pathologist position in 2027.

The AHA pathway is a great opportunity to become part of the clinic, build practical experience and confidence, and get to know our team, clients and approach before stepping into your graduate Speech Pathology role.

What we offer
  • Competitive salary + PD allowance

  • Flexible work options

  • AHA pathway for final-year Speech Pathology students, transitioning into a permanent Speech Pathologist role following graduation

  • Supportive onboarding tailored to your experience and stage of career

  • Generous PD allowance, structured supervision and mentoring, and regular in-house learning

  • A beautiful, fully resourced and sensory-friendly clinic, including a sensory gym, extensive therapy resources, modern systems and excellent admin support

  • A friendly, collaborative multidisciplinary team with diverse clinical strengths

  • Opportunities to develop your clinical skills and interests across a broad paediatric caseload

Most importantly, we want our clinicians to feel well supported, enjoy coming to work and have opportunities to develop into the clinicians they want to become.

About us

Speak Listen Learn is a warm, family-centred paediatric Speech Pathology and Audiology clinic based in Frenchs Forest.

Our clinic is bright, calm and thoughtfully designed, with a sensory gym, well-equipped therapy rooms, extensive resources and dedicated administrative support.

Our multidisciplinary team includes Speech Pathology, Audiology, Occupational Therapy and specialist feeding/dysphagia Speech Pathology. We also share our building with Psychology and Early Intervention services, creating plenty of opportunities for collaboration.

We support children and young people with practical, meaningful communication goals, and support our clinicians with realistic expectations, quality supervision and a work environment that is engaging, positive and sustainable.

About the role

Our caseload spans infants through to teenagers, with a broad range of clinical presentations and areas of practice.

Depending on your role, experience and interests, your work may include:

  • Speech sound disorders

  • Language and literacy

  • AAC and complex communication needs

  • Developmental and complex disability

  • Early intervention and parent coaching

  • Neurodivergent children and adolescents

  • Hearing loss and communication

  • Working collaboratively with families, teachers and other professionals

Qualified Speech Pathologists will manage their own paediatric caseload with full admin support. The role would be shaped around your interests, experience and availability.

Final-year Speech Pathology students will work as an AHA under the direction and supervision of our Speech Pathologists, implementing individualised therapy programs and gaining practical clinical experience before transitioning into their graduate role.

What we’re looking for

You must be either:

  • A qualified Speech Pathologist, or

  • A final-year Speech Pathology student who will be eligible to practise as a Speech Pathologist following graduation in 2027.

We’d love to hear from someone who is:

  • Warm, engaged and proactive

  • An excellent and empathetic communicator

  • Positive, strengths-based and genuinely enjoys working with children and families

  • Confident engaging with different ages and working collaboratively with parents

  • Organised, efficient and a strong written communicator

  • Curious, reflective and keen to continue developing clinically

  • Committed to evidence-based and neuroaffirming practice

  • Medicare provider number, or eligibility to obtain one
