Job description

About the job

Why Join Us?

At Allied Kids Therapy, we believe great therapy happens when clinicians feel supported, valued, and genuinely enjoy the work they do. We partner closely with children and families to create meaningful, practical progress that fits naturally into everyday family life. We look after our therapists just as intentionally as we look after our clients.

We don’t just talk about our values. We live them:

  • We can do hard things. Paediatric OT work is complex and rewarding in equal measure, and we tackle it head‑on, together.
  • We are life‑long learners. Growth doesn’t stop at graduation. We invest in your clinical development for the long haul.
  • We don’t pass the buck. Everyone owns their outcomes, for clients, for each other, and for the team.
  • We show up and support each other. No one does this work alone here.
Training & Support That Actually Delivers
  • Easy Start: A tailored induction designed for senior clinicians, with the right balance of onboarding, shadowing, and caseload ramp‑up so you can settle in confidently without being held back.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Work autonomously, backed by a multidisciplinary team that values discussion, shared expertise, and integrated paediatric care. We’re looking for an experienced OT who enjoys supporting other clinicians directly or indirectly, sharing what they know, and helping their knowledge reach more children and families.
  • Clinical Development: Tailored CPD, a $2,000 annual professional development budget, and 1 paid study day each year. We also invest in learning together through four in‑house PD days annually focused on OT and MDT learning, plus fortnightly knowledge‑sharing sessions
  • Leadership Pathways: As we grow, so do the opportunities. Step into supervision and leadership as you’re ready.
  • Hearing Your Voice: Feedback isn’t just welcomed, it shapes how we work. If something’s not working, we want to know, because we don’t pass the buck, and neither should you.
  • Fun, Connected Team: Paid quarterly team‑building events and regular social catch‑ups that build real connection, not just calendar invites.
  • Extra Rewards: Earn extra cash, leave, and other rewards through our rewards program for exceeding your targets.
  • Travel Made Easy: Getting to your clients is supported with KM reimbursement.
Flexibility That’s Real
  • Your Diary, Your Way: Structure your week, work from home when it suits, and build a schedule that makes room for family, passions, interests, and life outside the clinic, not the other way around.
  • Trust First: We believe senior clinicians do their best work when they’re trusted with autonomy, not micromanaged.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Full‑time Occupational Therapist with 3+ years of experience
  • Clinicians who are passionate about working with a predominantly paediatric community caseload
  • Interest in covering caseloads in West Melbourne
  • A full driving licence and access to a car is required
  • Current registration with AHPRA
What does Support mean at Allied Kids Therapy?
  • Easy Start: A three‑week induction with no client load so you can settle in at your own pace, followed by gradual caseload building.
  • Ongoing Guidance: Whether you’re just starting out or already experienced, you’ll have weekly supervision, career mentoring, and a support buddy to guide you through check‑ins and shadow sessions.
  • Fun, Connected Team: Join a social, friendly team with paid quarterly team‑building events.
  • Travel Made Easy: Getting to your clients is on us! KM reimbursement included.
  • Extra Rewards: Access to our rewards program allowing you to earn extra leave, cash and other rewards for exceeding your targets!
Commitment to Diversity:

At Allied Kids Therapy, we embrace diversity, inclusivity and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, identities, and abilities including neurodiverse individuals. If you think you’d be great in this role but don’t meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply, we’d love to hear from you.
