Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Anaesthetics and PACU in Geelong, Australia. The role involves delivering patient-centred nursing care in the anaesthetic and PACU settings, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board.
• Experience in Anaesthetics and/or PACU nursing.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in the Anaesthetic and PACU environments.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist the anaesthetist during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anaesthesia.
• Monitor and assess patients in the recovery phase, responding promptly to changes in clinical condition.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with organisational policies and professional standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement standards.
• Support and mentor junior staff and students as appropriate.
