Job summary

SOILCO is seeking a Machine Operator to safely operate packaging machines, set up, monitor, and perform minor troubleshooting in a bulk materials environment.

You will complete production records, perform quality checks on bag weight, seal integrity and coding, and maintain cleanliness and safety in line with WHS standards.

This full-time role requires forklift and manual handling capabilities, good communication, reliability, and a team-focused approach within our Australia operations.

Qualifications

• Current Forklift Licence (LF).
• Current Australian Drivers Licence.
• Ability to perform manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Machine Operating experience VFFS.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, or fertilizer operations.
• Experience operating bagging equipment or working in a bulk materials environment.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot bagging machinery to ensure safe, efficient production.
• Perform quality checks on finished products, ensuring bag weight, seal integrity, product appearance and coding meet specifications.
• Accurately complete production records, quality documentation and operational reports.
• Follow all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), hygiene and quality standards, promptly reporting any hazards, incidents or near misses.
• Conduct routine machine cleaning, preventative maintenance and minor operational adjustments to maximise equipment performance.
• Achieve production targets through effective teamwork, clear communication and support of training and onboarding activities when required.
