Job summary

Junction Support Services is seeking an experienced Residential Care Youth Worker for our Morgan Road Residential Home in Wangaratta. This permanent sleepover role supports young people with complex trauma histories, delivering trauma-informed care across evening, night and morning routines.

You will work as part of a dedicated therapeutic team, with robust penalties and allowances, ensuring safety, stability and positive relationships while promoting ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or equivalent) required.
• Experience working with young people in residential settings.
• Desirable: Residential Out-of-Home Care experience.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Victorian Working with Children Check.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Willingness to complete National Police Check.
• Commitment to trauma-informed practice and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver trauma-informed, child-centred care during evening, overnight and morning routines.
• Support nightly and morning routines, meals and household tasks.
• Administer and document medication following plans and policies.
• Respond using Behaviour Support Plans and therapeutic strategies.
• Facilitate meaningful activities promoting regulation and independence.
• Complete case notes and incident reports to DFFH standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide consistent therapeutic care.
