Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Coordinator Outreach Programs to lead an outreach team across Multicultural and Children’s Collections, Home Library, Mobile Library, Youth and Aged Services in Sydney. The role plans and delivers literacy programs, manages specialist collections, coordinates services for sight impaired or frail aged, and coaches staff to respond to community needs.

It also builds relations with schools and community groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead an outreach team across Multicultural and Children’s Collections, Home Library, Mobile Library, Youth and Aged Services
• Plan and deliver outreach and literacy programs; manage specialist collections; coordinate services for sight impaired or frail aged
• Coach staff, support their development and ensure services respond to community needs
• Build relationships with schools, community organisations, health providers and cultural groups
• Represent the library service in community networks; identify emerging needs and shape programs
• Contribute to budgets, service planning and improvements across Library Services
• Make learning, culture and library services more accessible and strengthen community connections
