Job summary

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services Ltd (SCECS) is seeking a dedicated part-time Educator to join our OSHC team. Based in the Randwick area, you will support children with care and education during after-school hours, Tuesday-Thursday, term time only, 18 hours per week.

You will work within a supportive, not-for-profit organisation and collaborate with families and school communities, holding a NSW Working with Children check and completing GECCKO training.

Qualifications

• Hold NSW Working with Children check.
• Completed mandatory national child safety training via GECCKO.
• Desirable: OSHC experience.
• Desirable: Qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care or working towards it.
• Desirable: Certificate in Child Protection.
• Desirable: Full first-aid certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe OSHC service for staff and children in a collaborative team.
• Maintain attendance and booking schedules for child safety and supervision.
• Support the design and delivery of engaging educational programs with observations and reflections.
• Create opportunities to share children's participation with families and the school community.
• Maintain strong relationships with families and the school community.

The Role

With a genuine passion for childcare, you will be compassionate and friendly and possess the ability to interact with children positively and productively. This role is a dedicated Perm-Part-Time role Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, term time only 18hrs per week. *** Casual Educators are welcome to apply ***

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Provide a safe OSHC service for staff and children in an all-inclusive professional team environment
• Maintain children's attendance and casual bookings schedules to ensure child safety and supervision
• Support the design and implement engaging educational programs with observations and reflection journals
• Create opportunities to share children’s participation and engagement in programs with families
• Maintain strong relationships with families and the school community

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Hold a NSW Working with Children check
• Completed the mandatory national child safety training via GECCKO. Register GECCKO
• (Desirable) Previous work experience in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)
• (Desirable) Hold a qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care or working towards
• (Desirable) Hold a certificate of training in Child Protection
• (Desirable) Full first-aid certificate
