Job summary

Big Childcare is seeking an experienced OSHC Centre Manager to lead Wiripaang Public School in Gateshead, Australia. You’ll oversee a team of educators, ensure high-quality care, and foster safe, inclusive environments for children before and after school.

This full-time role combines hands-on child engagement with leadership, budgeting, rostering, and compliance. You’ll collaborate with families and the school community to deliver play-based programs aligned with safeguarding and My Time Our

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education & Care, or School Age Education & Care, or ACECQA recognised equivalent.
• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
• Child protection & safety training certificates with safeguarding knowledge.
• National Police Check within last 6 months or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid in an Early Education setting.
• Food Safety Certificate.
• Work rights in Australia.
• Leadership experience in OSHC or ECEC and understanding of NQF & My Time, Our Place.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Educators to deliver high-quality care and build strong relationships with families and the school community.
• Oversee budgeting, staff training, compliance, and rostering to keep the service running smoothly.
• Ensure delivery to the National Quality Framework and internal policies, including incident reporting and medication plans.
• Plan and deliver play-based, child-led programs aligned with the My Time, Our Place framework.
