Job summary

Sydney Catholic Early Childhood Services (SCECS) is seeking an OSHC Coordinator to lead and support a dedicated team, delivering safe, high-quality care for children aged 5-12.

You will design engaging educational activities, maintain strong relationships with families and schools, and ensure compliance with safeguarding and quality standards. The role offers Above Award salary and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• To be successful you will have a qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
• Previous work experience in Out of School Hours Care (OSHC).
• Hold a certificate of training in Child Protection.
• Full first-aid certificate.
• Hold an NSW Working with Children check.
• Completed the mandatory national child safety training via GECCKO. Register GECCKO.

The Role

With a genuine passion for childcare, you will be compassionate and friendly and possess the ability to interact with children positively and productively.
Your main responsibilities will be:

• Provide a safe OSHC service for staff and children aged 5-12 years. In an all-inclusive professional team environment
• Support the design and implementation of engaging educational programs with observations and reflection journals
• Create opportunities to share children's participation and engagement in programs with families
• Maintain strong relationships with families and the school community
• Actively supervise children and maintain their health, safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Support children's social, emotional and developmental needs, encouraging independence and positive behaviour.
• Follow child protection policies, mandatory reporting requirements and all relevant safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard and relevant regulations.
• Assist with the preparation, setup and pack-up of activities, indoor and outdoor spaces, and equipment
• Support the preparation and serving of snacks and meals in line with food safety and allergy management requirements
• Communicate effectively with families regarding children's participation, wellbeing and any concerns
• Work collaboratively with the Service Director and team to ensure the smooth daily operation of the service
• Contribute to continuous improvement and the delivery of high-quality care and education
• Follow SCECS policies, procedures and code of conduct at all times

About you

To be successful you will have:
