Job summary

SmartPlay Caboolture is seeking a proactive OSHC Assistant Director / Nominated Supervisor (2IC) to help lead a high-quality Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care program. You will support daily operations, mentor educators, and oversee the service in the Director's absence.

The role suits an educator with OSHC or early childhood leadership experience, ready to contribute to a Christ-centred service and engage with families and the school community.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent approved qualification in early childhood education.
• Experience in OSHC or early childhood setting with demonstrated leadership.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Foundations child safety training
• Knowledge of NQF, My Time Our Place, and relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nominated Supervisor in day-to-day service operations.
• Plan and implement engaging child-led programs for school-aged children.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, educators and the school community.
• Lead the team and oversee the service in the Director's absence.
• Assist with supervising and developing educators.
• Assist with compliance, documentation, rostering, bookings and admin tasks.
• Create a safe, welcoming, Christ-centred environment where children can explore and thrive.

We're looking for an enthusiastic OSHC Assistant Director / Nominated Supervisor (2IC) to support the OSHC Nominated Supervisor in delivering an outstanding Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care program. In this role you will:

• Support the Nominated Supervisor in the day-to-day operation of the service.
• Assist in planning and implementing engaging, child-led programs that foster children's wellbeing, learning and development.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, educators and the school community.
• Take a leadership role within the team and confidently oversee the service in the Director's absence.
• Assist with responsibility for supervising and developing educators.
• Assist with compliance, documentation, rostering, bookings and administrative tasks.
• Help create a safe, welcoming and Christ-centred environment where children are encouraged to explore, belong and thrive.

We will consider both full-time and part-time applicants, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

Child Safety Requirements:

• Demonstrate a commitment to child safety
• Understand and commit to upholding and maintaining a child-safe environment
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of child safe behaviours and practices
• Be able to demonstrate child safe values, behaviours and practices
• Able to describe the role and responsibilities of educators in keeping children safe and championing child safe principles

About you

• You hold (or are working towards) a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent approved qualification.
• You have experience in an OSHC or Early Childhood setting, with demonstrated leadership capability.
• You are organised, proactive and able to support the smooth operation of a busy service.
• You have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• You hold current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or are willing to obtain them).
• You hold a current paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
• You hold up to date foundations child safety training.
• You have sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework, My Time, Our Place and relevant legislation.
• You're confident using technology and online management systems.
• You're a collaborative team player with a servant heart and vibrant Christian faith.
