Job summary

Cairns Catholic Early Learning & Care is hiring an OSHC Assistant Coordinator for Our Lady Help of Christians, Earlville. The role supports the Educational Leader, mentors educators and fosters a child-centred, reflective learning environment.

The position is a 12-month fixed-term parental leave contract, part-time at 30 hours per week, based in Earlville, Cairns. You’ll collaborate with families, staff and leadership to deliver meaningful, play-based learning and safe routines.

Qualifications

• ACECQA approved diploma level or higher or working towards.
• Experience in OSHC or early childhood education settings.
• Leadership experience in a team.
• Program planning, documentation, and critical reflection.
• Understanding of MTOP framework and NQF.
• Current Blue Card and up-to-date First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR.

Responsibilities

• Support Educational Leader with program design aligned to MTOP framework.
• Coach educators to engage in reflection and professional dialogue.
• Promote inclusive and culturally responsive practice.
• Build strong relationships with children and families.
• Maintain clear communication with parents and educators.
• Monitor children's learning and wellbeing with observations and reflections.
• Collaborate with leadership to foster continuous improvement and set goals.
• Ensure compliance with National Quality Framework and regulations.
• Assist with scheduling, record-keeping and supplies management.
