Job summary

Helping Hands Burpengary is seeking an OSHC Assistant Coordinator for a permanent, part-time role (21.5 hours/week) across split shifts, Monday to Friday. You’ll lead a team of Educators in a vibrant before/after-school program for 5–12-year-olds, with duties spanning rostering, operations, and family partnerships.

  • Leadership capability and willingness to step into a Coordinator role.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Educators, families, and school partners.
  • Comfort with rostering, morning and afternoon operations, and compliance tasks.
  • Interest in growing into leadership positions within the service.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead a team of Educators and oversee before- and after-school programs for ages 5–12.
  • Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance and administration.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported and motivated.
  • Partner with families, schools and internal stakeholders to grow the service.
  • Receive coaching from an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager.

Helping Hands Burpengary is seeking an inspiring and motivated OSHC Assistant Coordinator to join our growing service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll shape culture, drive quality, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and your team.

This is a permanent, part-time role (21.5 hours per week) working across split shifts, Monday to Friday. This is the perfect opportunity for an education, psychology, social work or healthcare student as we work around your busy schedule.

Service hours include:
  • Rise Then Shine: 6:30am - 9:00am
  • Stay and Play: 2:30pm - 6:00pm
  • School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am - 6:00pm

About your new role

As an Assistant Coordinator, you’ll help lead a team of passionate Educators and oversee an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership:

  • Design and help lead a vibrant, child-centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
  • Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
  • Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
  • Be supported by an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager, so you’re never doing it alone.
Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

We can teach you about the job and sector, but a few basics you need to have:

  • Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
  • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)
  • Enjoys working with children and making a positive impact
  • Communicates clearly and confidently
  • Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership role
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children check
  • Has Australian work rights
