Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Orthopaedic Unaccredited Trainee at South East Regional Hospital in the Bega Valley. The role includes day-to-day management of orthopaedic inpatients, an on-call service for SERH and three surrounding hospitals, and a mix of elective and emergency operations performed annually.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, registered with Medical Board of Australia.
• Ability to rotate across required rotations.
• Ability to work independently within a supervised clinical environment.
• Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritise workloads in a demanding clinical environment.
• Ongoing commitment to self-education and professional development.
• At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day orthopaedic inpatients and on-call service for SERH and three surrounding hospitals.
• Supervise residents and rotate medical students from ANU.
• Work with regular on-call rosters; occasional 1 in 3 on-calls during periods of leave.
• Engage in regular journal clubs, X-ray meetings, teaching and M&M meetings.
• Support registrars to develop operative skills and pursue the AOA Training Program.
