Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking an Optimisation Specialist to drive data-driven improvements across embedded networks. You will own Power BI reporting, develop optimisation strategies, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver BI projects that maximise value and reduce waste.

You will analyse complex data sets, forecast budgets, and prepare clear reports for clients and management. The role offers flexible leave options and opportunities to grow within a dynamic energy company.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering, mathematics, finance, data science or related field.
Strong analytical skills with experience in high-volume data sets.
Experience with Power BI or Tableau, plus Excel and SQL.
Experience using Power Apps, Power Automate or AI tools to improve reporting and processes.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement optimisation strategies for client embedded networks.
Analyse performance data, identify trends and recommend improvements.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver optimisation and business intelligence projects.
Own and maintain Power BI reporting, automation and optimisation tools.
Lead annual price change and budget forecasting projects.
Prepare client and management reporting, including forecasts and sustainability insights.
Resolve complex operational issues and support billing, data quality and compliance activities.
