Job summary

Five Dock Optometry in Sydney’s Inner West is seeking an Optical Assistant or Dispenser to join its growing independent practice. You’ll engage with patients from selection to collection, recommend frames and lenses, and help tailor eyewear to lifestyle and vision.

You’ll fit, adjust and repair frames, manage stock, and work closely with the Optometrists and team. Training and ongoing development are provided in a welcoming, modern practice with exclusive designer eyewear.

Qualifications

• Optical experience is highly regarded, whether you’re a qualified dispenser or have worked in an Optical Assistant role.
• If you’re new to optics, you’ll need to be a confident communicator and eager to learn the technical side of eyewear and eye care.
• Training and support will be provided as you build your knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Frame styling and lens recommendations
• Fittings, adjustments and repairs
• Supporting patients from initial selection through to collection and after-care
• Ordering, stock and maintaining the optical collection
• Working closely with the Optometrists and wider practice team
