Job summary

Cleanaway in Artarmon, NSW is seeking an experienced Operator to join our transfer station team. This hands-on role requires heavy machinery experience and a commitment to safety, quality, and timely waste operations.

You will stage trucks, manage hitching, operate backhoes, and communicate tipping locations to drivers while ensuring fair workload distribution. This is a permanent full-time role with day schedule Mon-Fri and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Current Excavator and Loader / Forklift ticket.
• Must hold a current HC Licence.
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Good mechanical aptitude and committed to safety.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Using a backhoe to dig out overweight trailers.
• Cleaning behind the packer units.

• Ensuring the tipping destinations are evenly shared across drivers.

• Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm + Potential OT avail (Saturdays)
• Permanent Full-time - Artarmon, NSW

The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Operator to join our team at our Artarmon transfer station.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone heavy machinery experience keen to contribute to essential waste operations that support the local environment. Some of the responsibilities are as below.

Duties:

• Staging trucks and trailers throughout the day for loading and quick hitching
• Quick hitching is when a prime mover comes in, drops and empty trailer and hitches to a full trail, the leaves…quickly.
• Using a backhoe to dig out overweight trailers
• Cleaning behind the packer units
• Communicating the tipping locations to drivers
• Ensuring the tipping destinations are evenly shared across drivers

About You
