Job summary

Adbri Cement in Adelaide is seeking a capable Operator to join the cement production team on a rotating 12-hour shift (2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off). You will monitor production assets, perform critical plant checks and help meet safety, environmental, quality and production targets.

You will gain a comprehensive career development pathway and on-the-job training to multi-skill across plant operations, including kilns, cement mills, control room tasks and ship loading procedures.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be able to obtain an HR licence.
• Ability to operate heavy mobile equipment and perform safe, efficient plant operation.
• Willingness to work in physically demanding environments, including hot work and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Pre-empt potential issues using initiative and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to minimise plant delays.

• Follow daily Operation Plans and safety procedures.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and hard-working employee to join our inclusive Adbri Cement production team.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor on a rotating 12-hour shift roster (2 days on, 2 nights on, then 4 days off) you will be responsible for ensuring the optimum operation of production assets, completing critical plant checks within site procedures, and ensuring safety, environment, quality and production targets are met.

Responsibilities

• Use initiative and problem-solving skills to pre-empt potential problem areas.
• Work with the Production Supervisor and other team members to respond to operating plant issues and ensure plant delays are minimised.
• Engage in training to multi-skill to enable the operator to work in all operational aspects including plant isolation's, permit issuing, kiln and cement mill processing, central control room operations and ship loading procedures.
• Comply with daily Operation Plans
• Ensure operational standards, policies and procedures are followed.
• Safely operate heavy mobile equipment
